Disenchanted by the crossfire
of heart versus head
the moon saw the future
and faced it with dread

the heart was always breaking
never knowing why
the head, it always knew
but figured, what’s one more goodbye?

broken and betrayed
heart blamed the head
and moon could not be a hero
to a key player, left for dead

the battle is lost
light bleeds from the stars
leaving a mojo-less moon to reign
over silence and scars.
