~ When the Moon Sings the Blues ~ It was an apropos backdrop for the wedding a path sprinkled with the dust of a million hopeful stars held under a near-fallen canopy of broken dreams it was the inevitable marriage of words – spoken and unspoken – often embroiled now coming together in commitment Intent walked the lonesome aisle looking from side to side and finding neither one holy on the side of Spoken the naïve sat, softly crying that Spoken had proven unfaithful they are comforted by the cynical who saw it coming and glare accusingly across the aisle those in the seats of Unspoken found the ceremony peculiar wounded that they were deemed fickle before they could ever come to light Intent knelt at the alter and prayed for a chance for redemption for hope and from high above the moon watched with a pondering eye giving breath to the sorrowful notion that this union of words would render Intent irrelevant a haunting melody echoed through the night air wafting through the procession as they filtered out all the words converged in union and Intent was lost among them. © Dahlia Ramone: December 29, 2021 * I wrote this for Shay’s Word Garden challenge. She supplied twenty words and the challenge was to use at least three of them. I used the following: blues / dust / fallen / broke[n] / lonesome / holy / spoken / naïve / crying / peculiar / wounded / fickle

Well that was tasty, I love it when you put words in my mouth…

Thanks for being part of the word list! That Cowboy Junkies song is one I used to have, but haven;t heard in years–it’s a good one.

Thank you so much, I’m glad I came across your blog. And I can so clearly remember the first time I heard the Cowboy Junkies. I was in a hotel room and had turned on the tv, and they were singing, closing out some evening talk show. I don’t remember which show, but I was absolutely OBSESSED with their sound and was kind of manic about it, trying to figure out who they were (this was before Shazam was an app lol!) Eventually I found out who they were and bought their Trinity Session cassette (dating myself) before eventually replacing it with a CD. It still remains one of my favorite albums 🙂

lol! I need to get another cassette player. I have a box of cassettes and sure, I can play most of them online or CD, but I have a couple mixed tapes I made (man, I miss the days of taping songs off the radio and trying to time them just right lol!)

Thank you so much, Carrie. It took a long time staring at a blank screen before I came up with it lol! It can be such a tough line to walk between the two of them. Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
