The Wind Made it So

~ The Wind Made it So ~

One day, back when the sky knew only ebony
the wind first whispered about us
but couldn’t hold its excitement for long

the wind danced its magic, and its joy intensified
shining a light on us that surpassed its limits
until it burst in blinding recognition
of the dawning of Fate

like glitter blown from the palm of one’s hand
the light fluttered across an ebony canvas
settling in brilliant, haphazard fashion
to light up the evening sky

the story of our love, for all to see.

This was written for a writing challenge:
Begin with the words “one day”
and write a poem or story in five
stanzas or sentences.

I failed the “five stanza” part, but this
is still short, by my standards 😉
